May 8th Meeting Summary

Welcome, Introductions, and Blessing

All present introduced themselves; we had representatives from various faith traditions and professions present.

The Blessing emphasized that Compassion hits the ground walks the talk; it has hands, feet, eyes and ears for human misery.

Pointers from Compassion Integrity Training

Mindy Stieg: Website
Mindy could not be with us today, but she provided an Update on our Endorsements: we welcomed the following new Endorsers:

Kenn Totten, Jen Hahn Petruso, Charlotte Pulte, Kathy Rowland, Carly Finigan-Dronchi, Krissy Avise-Rouse, Byron Clemens, and Chrissy Kirchhoefer, and two organizations: Sisters of St. Joseph, and Epiphany United Church of Christ.

Mindy reported that we have 382 endorsements. Remember, our immediate goal is 500...!

Carla Mae and Teresa urged us each to bring one more person to endorse CSTL by the next meeting.

Steve Di Salvo: Update on Facebook

Steve will be trying to find a way to encourage our 500+ visitors to endorse us,

Dave Wenzel/Carla Mae on Finances:

We have a bank balance of $400+. Carla Mae made an ask to build up our finances to be able to obtain our 501c3 for the state of Missouri in the near future, and to help us pay our bills:

We need your financial help to obtain our 501c3 tax exempt status (approx. $500) and some new expenses. If you can help at this time we'd be very grateful.

Walking the Talk:

We 'Shouted Out' Ken Totten and the Unity Team.

Unity Foundation seeks to apply the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (IDEA) to the world of software tools and systems that organizations use to collect, organize, and share data. They believe that more equitable access to information and services, especially for those in underserved communities, will uplift and empower all members of our community.

Questions, comments, suggestions followed, and we were filled with hope that this wonderful work is now going on not only in the city, but throughout the state!
